Casked Ale at the Alibi Room!

We a rarely seen traditional cask (real beer) of IPA dry hopped with Cascade and Columbus hops using one of the three beer engines at the Alibi Room. Head down and give it a try before it runs out. Should be on tap today or tomorrow.

Pumpkin Ales are mild, with little to no bitterness, a good malt backbone with some spice often taking the lead. The best versions use real, roasted pumpkin which adds tremendous depth of character, it’s time-consuming and tends to drive brewmasters insane.

This one off Pumpkin Ale really delivers, with roasted pumpkin, just the right amount of the best spices available while still letting the pumpkin shine through. It’s on cask tomorrow (Friday) at Dix and we hope to see you there.

Cherry Stout this Saturday!

Help drain Storm’s cask of Cherry Stout, made with fresh Okanagan cherries (Mmm… cherries. Get it while it lasts!) this Saturday at Central City Brewing in Surrey. 19 other BC microbrews. Vote for Consumers Choice Award.

1st Annual Surrey Summer Cask Festival
11am - 5pm @ Central City Brewing
13450 - 1-2nd Ave., Surrey (Across from Surrey Central Skytrain Station)
Tickets $20 at the door ($15 Camra members) Gets you: a glass, 3 drink tickets, beer list. Additional samples $1.50

I know I haven’t updated the website enough but I encourage everyone to check out the new storm customers:

Habit (Main St) - IPA
Mysala (Granville St. & Smithe) - Pilsner and IPA

I don’t often accept new customers, but I believe these places have unique food pairing opportunities. Also, relatively new, if you haven’t checked out Chambar on Beatty Street, you should. They’ve been pairing the Black Plague Stout with a chocolate dessert and have had my IPA on tap before.

The Whip Restaurant Gallery Brewers’ Dinner is on January 13th. I’m bringing a pin of 1997 Black Current Lambic, that is cask conditioning already to pair with some kind of heavy chocolate dessert. Should be a great event.

Thanks —James (Owner\ brewer\ delivery driver of Storm Brewing Ltd.)

The Whip Real Ale Sundays

Hi all, James will be preparing a delicious food paring for this Sunday’s event at The Whip (209 East 6th ave). On cask will be the Black Plague Stout refermented with succulent berries and served with James’ world renouned Chocolate Ganache. If you’re a fan of beer and chocolate it’s not one to miss!
UPDATE:
Actually, the Whip is making the dessert. They make food for a living, James makes beer. Sorry for the confusion :/
